Kuyenda Bushcamp

Located in the secluded southern area of South Luangwa National Park, Kuyenda offers a one-of-a-kind wildlife adventure. The camp comprises 6 guest chalets with twin beds that can be converted into a king-size bed, each featuring a shower, twin wash-basins, and a toilet. Guests can enjoy solar-powered hot and cold running water, toiletries, and mosquito nets.

The central dining area boasts a lounge and a bar with stunning views of a grassy plain bustling with wildlife. Kuyenda operates on solar energy, providing limited charging facilities and lighting. The camp also offers a fully stocked bar and a complimentary limited laundry service. Children aged 12 years and older are welcome at Kuyenda. For families with younger children, private camp reservations or hiring a Private Guide Vehicle are available due to age restrictions on walking safaris in the park.

Upon arrival at Mfuwe International Airport, guests will be greeted and taken to Mfuwe Lodge for refreshments before embarking on a 1 to 1.5-hour game-viewing drive through South Luangwa National Park to reach Kuyenda Bushcamp. The nearest airport is Mfuwe International Airport, with scheduled flights permitting a maximum luggage allowance of 23kg per person packed in soft bags. The flight from Lusaka takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Gratuities at Kuyenda are discretionary and based on guest satisfaction, with suggested tipping guidelines for guides and general staff. South Luangwa experiences mild winter days from May to mid-August with chilly evenings, while it is generally warm from September through April. The dry season spans May to October, followed by the rainy season from November through April, with the hottest months being October and November before the onset of rains.
