Chikoko Trails Camp - Remote Africa Safaris

Chikoko Trails Camps – Remote Safaris

Chikoko Trails comprises two intimate bush camps, Chikoko Tree Camp and Big Lagoon (formerly known as Crocodile River Camp). In 2022, Crocodile River Camp was relocated to the stunning Big Lagoon site, offering breathtaking views of a vast lagoon surrounded by ebony forest within the South Luangwa National Park. Accessible only by foot, these camps provide a unique opportunity for immersive walking safaris in the heart of remote Africa, allowing visitors to experience the environment up close and immerse themselves in the scents, sounds, and timeless essence of the natural world. The walking safaris accommodate a maximum of six people and are conducted without roads or vehicles, with access to the trails via canoe. The camps offer amenities such as in-camp armchair viewing, a treehouse with open-plan architecture for exceptional wildlife viewing, and natural fire-making skills experiences. Additionally, Chikoko Trails prioritizes sustainable practices and provides solar communal charging areas and fans while offering a true walking safari experience where everything is carried in by porters. Airstrip access options for reaching various camps in South Luangwa include Mfuwe International Airport, Mwanya (Lukuzi) airstrip, and Remote Africa Safaris private airstrip, with a 2-2.5hr drive from Mfuwe airport to Chikoko camp followed by a 5min canoe trip across.
