Kapamba Bushcamp

 Kapamba Bushcamp is a peaceful getaway situated in a remote and wildlife-rich area within the southern part of South Luangwa National Park. The camp comprises four delightful stone-and-thatch chalets, a central area, and a deck that offers breathtaking 180-degree views of the Kapamba River. Guests also have the unique option to sleep under the stars in raised salas, allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the African experience.

Accommodation at Kapamba consists of four open-fronted chalets, each equipped with twin beds that can be converted into a king-size bed. For safety, wrought-iron gates are drawn over the front at night. All rooms feature twin showers with river views, washbasins, toilets, and two rooms include raised salas with mosquito nets for a memorable experience of sleeping under the African sky. The camp provides solar-powered hot and cold running water, toiletries, standing floor fans, and mosquito nets for guests’ comfort.

The camp’s facilities include a spacious main lounge and dining area that opens onto a tiered deck with picturesque views of the Kapamba River. Guests can also relax by the swimming pool overlooking the river or enjoy refreshments at the fully stocked bar. Kapamba operates on solar power with limited charging facilities available and lighting provided by solar light and paraffin lamps. A complimentary limited laundry service is offered to guests.

Children aged 12 years and older are welcome at Kapamba. However, children under 12 are not allowed to participate in walking safaris in the park. Families traveling with younger children will need to reserve a private camp or hire a Private Guide Vehicle for the duration of their stay at any of the Bushcamps.

Upon arrival at Mfuwe International Airport, all guests are met and transported by vehicle to Mfuwe Lodge for refreshments before embarking on a 2- to 3-hour game-viewing drive through South Luangwa National Park to reach Kapamba Bushcamp.

The closest airport is Mfuwe International Airport, which has a luggage allowance of 23kg per person for scheduled flights. The flight time from Lusaka to Mfuwe is approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes. Alternatively, Kapamba Airstrip is available for charter flights and is just a 30-minute drive from Kapamba.

Gratuities at Kapamba are discretionary and dependent on guests’ satisfaction with the level of service provided.
