Chindeni - Bushcamp Company

Chindeni Bushcamp

Chindeni Bushcamp is located in the secluded southern area of the South Luangwa National Park, offering a serene and upscale experience within the wilderness. The camp comprises four guest chalets with twin beds that can be converted into a king-size bed. Each chalet is well-appointed with amenities including showers, wash-basins, toilets, and solar-powered hot and cold running water. Additionally, guests can enjoy toiletries, standing floor fans, and mosquito nets in their elevated tented rooms.

The camp’s central dining area, deck, and bar provide stunning views of the lagoon and Chindeni Hills. The bar and limited charging facilities are powered by solar energy, while a complimentary limited laundry service is also available. Chindeni Bushcamp welcomes children aged 12 years and older. For families with younger children, private camp reservations or hiring a Private Guide Vehicle are recommended due to age restrictions for walking safaris in the Park.

Upon arrival at Mfuwe International Airport, guests are greeted and driven to Mfuwe Lodge for refreshments before embarking on a game-viewing drive through the South Luangwa National Park to Chindeni Bushcamp, which takes approximately 2 hours 30 minutes to 2 hours 45 minutes. Mfuwe International Airport is the closest airport, with scheduled flights typically allowing a maximum luggage allowance of 23kg per person in soft bags. The flight time from Lusaka to Mfuwe is approximately 1 hour 10 minutes. Additionally, charter flights can use Kapamba Airstrip, which is just a 30-minute drive from Chindeni.

Regarding gratuities, while there is no obligation to tip, it is customary to offer gratuities if the service provided is exceptional. A suggested guideline for gratuities ranges from US5.00 to US20.00 per guest per day for guides and general staff.
