Chaminuka Lodge
Chaminuka Lodge
Chaminuka, located on the outskirts of Lusaka, originally served as the grand residence of Andrew Sardanis, an entrepreneur, historian, and author. The lodge’s architecture is inspired by a Zambian village, and it has hosted esteemed guests, including renowned artists and historical figures. Situated just a short drive from Kenneth Kaunda International Airport, Chaminuka offers a luxurious retreat with a 24-hour front desk and hospitable staff to ensure a delightful stay. Complimentary Wi-Fi is also available to keep guests connected during their visit.
Nestled within a 40-square-kilometer estate and nature reserve, some suites at Chaminuka feature balconies or terraces offering stunning views of the landscape. The walls of these suites display artworks from one of Zambia’s largest fine art collections, comprising about a thousand pieces of contemporary African paintings, sculptures, and traditional artifacts gathered from across the continent over the past fifty years. For those seeking a self-catering experience, the lodge provides four fully furnished villas adorned with a contemporary African theme. Full catering services are also available at the villas.
The lodge is home to over 7,000 exotic animals, offering guests the opportunity to embark on game drives and engage in unique experiences such as the cheetah walk, lion feeding, and elephant walk. Additionally, Chaminuka boasts approximately 300 bird species, some native to the area and others stopping by the water bodies during their migrations.
Guests can relax in the swimming pool, indulge in spa and wellness facilities, or socialize in the shared lounge area. Chaminuka’s culinary offerings blend the best of international cuisine with Zambian influences, featuring organic and locally sourced ingredients. The lodge is also known for its award-winning cheeses, which can be savored in the artistic grotto on-site.
With 30 modern suites within the lodge and 4 villas suitable for families and larger groups, Chaminuka offers comfortable accommodations with amenities such as TV, minibars, safes, valet and laundry services, broadband internet access, and conference facilities catering to both international and local organizations.
Furthermore, Chaminuka provides catered weddings and events set against the backdrop of Zambia’s natural beauty. Whether for couples, families, or solo adventurers, Chaminuka offers a diverse range of experiences for its guests.
