Chamilandu Bushcamp

Nestled in an ebony grove along the South Luangwa River, Chamilandu offers a unique, intimate safari experience. With only three stilted chalets, guests can enjoy a private and immersive stay in one of Zambia’s prime wildlife locations.

Accommodation at Chamilandu includes three stilted chalets with open fronts, providing stunning views of the surrounding landscape. Each chalet features twin showers, twin wash-basins, and a toilet, all powered by solar energy. The camp also provides toiletries, standing floor fans, and mosquito nets for added comfort.

Guests can unwind in the central lounge, bar, and dining area while taking in the beautiful views of the Luangwa River. The camp is powered by solar energy, offering a sustainable and eco-friendly experience. Additionally, limited laundry service is provided free of charge.

Chamilandu welcomes children aged 12 years and older. Families traveling with younger children can arrange for a private camp or hire a Private Guide Vehicle to ensure an enjoyable safari experience for all ages.

For transportation, guests will be met at Mfuwe International Airport and transferred to Mfuwe Lodge before embarking on a game-viewing drive to Chamilandu Bushcamp. The closest airport is Mfuwe International Airport, with scheduled flights from Lusaka taking approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes.

The South Luangwa region experiences mild winter days from May to mid-August, with cooler evenings, while September through April tends to be warmer. The dry season runs from May to October, followed by the rainy season from November through April, with the hottest months being October and November.

Guests are not obligated to tip; however, gratuities are welcomed based on satisfaction with the service provided. Guideline suggestions for gratuities range from US$5.00 to US$20.00 per guest per day for guides and general staff.
