Devil's Pool

Victoria Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world!!

Victoria Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. After thousands of years of erosion, many rock pools have formed near the great Victoria Falls and one of them is right on the very edge! Devil’s Pool, with a view of the drop of water off the side of the falls, it is the ultimate infinity pool!

It takes a rocky walk and swim in the Zambezi river to reach the pool before slipping into the adrenalin-pumping swimming hole. Those fearless enough to leap into the pool get pushed to the edge by the force of the river, with the rock lip bringing them to a halt as the raging waters of the Zambezi crash over the close-by cliffs.

The view from the edge is totally exhilarating as you feel the force of the Zambezi River flowing past you and crashing down over the 100-metre / 320-foot drop!

Over 500-million litres / 132-million gallons of water cascade over the Falls every minute, these waters are not to be messed with, so this activity is only open at certain times of the year. It is accessible during low-water season from about late June to January.

One of the highest bridge jumps in the world in the most spectacular setting!

This is the ultimate adrenaline rush, as you leap into space, free as a bird, saved from the swirling water below by the rebound of the cord, then hurtled upwards again at great speed. It’s an indescribable feeling!

Imagine counting down, ‘Three…Two… One… Bungee!!’

Against all better judgement you throw yourself head first into the void where you fall and fall and fall. Your freefall is for 70 metres / 230 feet off the Victoria Falls Bridge, which is 111m / 364ft high above Batoka Gorge.

White water rafting

The Batoka Gorge provides one of the most intense sensory thrills imaginable and gives you the opportunity to. Its 23 white-water rapids and striking scenery deep within sheer black cliffs afford adrenaline junkies a wild roller-coaster ride along a route carved over millennia by the great Zambezi River.

The rafting is run in large rubber rafts launched from just below the Falls at rapid 1 and piloted by experienced guides. When the river is high, generally from March to July, only the last 13 rapids can be attempted. As the water subsides, from about June to February, all 23 are usually navigable. If you are keen for the ultimate thrill then a multi-day trip along the Zambezi is it for you. After a full day of white-water rafting, you’ll set up camp in the Batoka Gorge and listen to  sound of the river as it rushes by, gaze into the campfire and down a few cold drinks before you settle in for the night.
