Camelthorn Lodge – Imvelo Safaris

Welcome to Camelthorn luxury lodge, situated in a tranquil woodland just west of the famous Ngamo Plains, on the southeastern border of Hwange National Park. The lodge is uniquely designed around a stunning ancient Camelthorn tree, offering an exceptional wilderness experience in the remote and unspoiled southeastern part of the park.

The accommodation consists of eight spacious villas, each tastefully furnished with comfortable beds, indoor and outdoor sitting areas, a fireplace, large soaking tub, and walk-in shower. Each villa also boasts a private outdoor deck with a hammock, perfect for relaxation or private dining. Additionally, four villas feature plunge pools on the upper deck.

We are a family-friendly lodge, allowing up to two children to share with an adult. Special arrangements are available for children under 7, including private dining and vehicle options.

Conveniently located in the Tsholotsho District on communal land, we are just a 5-minute drive from our private gate into Hwange National Park. Travel options include a 1-hour small plane charter from Victoria Falls or Bulawayo, a 4-hour road transfer from Victoria Falls or Bulawayo, or a 2-hour road transfer from Victoria Falls to Dete followed by a 2.5-hour rail car safari transfer from Dete Railway Station.
